Box Top Celebration
Westgate students met their goal of collecting 25,000 box tops to raise money for the school.  Ms. Kotulak's class collected the most of all the classrooms with 15,423 box tops. As a reward for meeting this goal, Mr. Broshar and Mrs. Moon agreed to get duck taped to the gym wall. The students and staff all got a big kick out of seeing them stuck to the wall. Way to go Westgate!

Last Buddy Activity
Today was Westgate's last buddy activity of the year. The students have loved getting to know and work with their buddies this year.
One Book One School
Westgate kicked of the One Book One School Program this morning at the Dr. Seuss breakfast. Every student received their own copy of the book The World According to Humphrey. Each week the students will read a chapter of the book at home and do activities with their families. First grade teacher Mr. Campbell drew a poster of Humphrey for all the students to sign as way to show they will participate in the program.
Dr. Seuss Breakfast
The Dr. Seuss breakfast was a big success. Thank you to Mrs. Fayman for organizing the breakfast again this year! The students and their families enjoyed a delicious breakfast of green eggs and ham. Then they went to the classrooms for some fun literacy activities.
Buddy Activities
Mrs. Lewis' second graders are creating kindness posters with the Westgate preschoolers to discourage bullying.
